Nowadays, you don’t have to look for exotics only in the Caribbean or the Pacific, you can also find exotics in the heart of Europe. About 60 kilometers south of Berlin is a huge hall, originally built as an airship factory. The originally unused space was rebuilt into a piece of paradise and the water world and was named Tropical Islands Berlin.
In a holiday village in the Tropical Islands Berlin, you will have the tropics right outside. This place has a capacity of over 6600 people. The Statue of Liberty would fit here in height and the Eiffel Tower in length. The largest indoor rainforest in the world, the largest sauna landscape in Europe, the South Sea with a 200-meter sandy beach, and the year-round Amazonia outdoor area, await you. The average air temperature here is around 26 ºC.
Beach, terrarium with real animals or balloon flight?
Tropical forest The heart of the tropical world is a sandy beach with a background that depicts the ocean. Thanks to the sun’s rays, you need to have sunscreen with you otherwise, you really run the risk of getting burned! We also recommend a walk through the tropical forest, where you can see huge spiders or snakes in the terrariums. You can store a towel either on the sandy beach or on one of the many sun loungers.
If you would like to see a tropical island from above, you can take advantage of a balloon flight that will take you all the way up and you will have the whole island in the palm of your hand. The Tropical Islands Berlin offers various cultural events and even a tropical dance show.
Blue lagoon
The blue lagoon is shallow but pleasantly warm. If you like hot water, you will be thrilled by the romantic blue lagoon Bali with water at a temperature of about 32 ºC. It is not possible to swim in the lagoon (an adult reaches the bottom), but it is ideal for relaxation. Here you will find two smaller water slides, a waterfall, a counter-current and two whirlpools.
Water slides
The islands are dominated by three water slides. If you like adrenaline, try water slides. There are three water slides and one small slide. The red water slide will be appreciated by those who want to go down on inflatable rings. They ride freely in a row. The yellow toboggan is medium fast and you drive here according to the traffic light.
The blue water slide located at a height of 25 meters will provide you with real adrenaline. The toboggan runs at speeds of up to 70 km / h and for safety reasons there is a barrier that will not let you go until the person in front of you arrives and leaves the area. The water slides close at night so as not to disturb the tranquility of the Tropical islands.
Sauna world
The sauna world offers a wide range of saunas. You can choose from different types of saunas, such as the herbal or tree sauna. In this fragrant world, where you forget about everyday problems, you will also find various whirlpools, fitness and wellness treatments. The so-called sauna houses will serve you to relax, where you can relax and meditate. Have you ever tried a traditional Hawaiian massage? Or a mud wrap?
If you want to use the sauna world, we recommend buying just a combined entrance with saunas. You can then leave or enter the saunas as you wish. But beware – access to saunas and whirlpools is prohibited in swimsuits. We therefore recommend that you bring a large bath towel and bathrobe.
Overnight in Tropical islands
You can also spend the night in the Tropical Islands. You can choose from tents, stylish cottages or houses inspired by Mexico. The cottages and stylish cottages have air conditioning and usually have their own TV, shower and toilet. Overnight stays in Tropical Islands are not included in the ticket price. When paying per night, you can choose whether you want a bed and breakfast or just a single bed.
You can also stay outside the water park hall in the holiday village of Tropical Islands Berlin. It is located just a few steps from the dome itself. The houses are in Scandinavian style for 4 to 8 people. A fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen and a generous terrace will make your holiday more pleasant.
